Comprehensive Plan 2023

Read more: Comprehensive Plan 2023

Please find the revised version of the PROPOSED Stanford Comprehensive Plan as well as the list of corresponding changes that the Town Board made to the document we inherited from the Comprehensive Reviews Plan Committee. I will be available in my office for questions and we will, of course, hold public hearings – dates to be announced. Thank you to the generations of volunteers who have worked many many many hours to put this plan together.

Town wide Yard Sale

Reminder: Town of Stanford’s 2nd Annual Community-Wide Yard Sale Event this Saturday!

This year’s event – sponsored by the Stanford Business Association in collaboration with the Stanford Grange #808 – will be held on this coming Saturday, July 2nd from 9am – 3pm (rain or shine). There are 2 options available to those who still want to participate. If you want to sell your wares at your own location (or join up with several families), we will be happy to include you on this year’s map of “sales” locations that will be handed out to visitors. If you don’t have your own spot, you have the option to bring your “stuff” to the Grange property (limited space available, first come first serve). In either case, to participate – please contact Katie Fallon @ no later than Wednesday June 29 so that we can make sure your spot is secured and you are listed on the map of locations.

Playground Safety Inspection Report

Stanford Recreation Park Inspection Report

The Stanford Recreation Capital Fund Raising Committee paid to have a full inspection done on the Sparc Park playground. I have attached the report and hope many of you will take the time to read it. We need to make a critical decision about trying to repair this beloved-hand-built-by-volunteer structure, or to replace it with a new one.

There are many factors to consider. Many of the recommendations that cite safety hazards come with the solution of replacement and or removal. Upkeep would be continual, and the treated wood that currently is in use does contain arsenic. Currently our playground is not A.D.A. compliant.

We need as much feedback from the community a possible. You can write to me at and I will announce shortly if we are to hold a Public Hearing.

Special Town Board Meeting 4.4.22

The meeting is to approve the Sport Tech bid to redo our tennis courts and resurface the upper basketball court. All of this work will be funded by the independent Recreation Capital Fund Raising Committee and a $125,000 grant obtained through Didi Barrett’s office. No taxpayer dollars are involved.
